About
Chef/owner GC Giancovich first opened the now-infamous Smoking Lobster Ventnor Beach in 2017. It quickly became popular with tourists and locals alike boasting panoramic views of one of the islands best beaches and delicious dishes celebrating the best island produce available, reimagined through a pan Asian lens.
In 2020 GC enlisted the help of his sister and sake sommelier Cinz. Having spent 15 years immersed in the London food scene, Cinz returned to the Island to begin working alongside GC and together they launched Drunken Lobster - an Izakaya style bar providing a more bar centric offering, with fine wines, sake and cocktails taking centre stage alongside a concise Japanese bar menu.
Together with a team that includes many family members, and close friends, the group have now launched Smoking Lobster Cowes. Taking inspiration from the other two sites SLC is the perfect place for a fantastic meal whatever the occasion.
Smoking Lobster Cowes has space for up to 100 people with three main areas. The main dining room has a large marble bar at the helm with large windows that look out onto the picturesque Cowes high street.
The Japanese room is set just off the main dining room and offers a more secluded and intimate dining experience. Finally, the corridor is spacious and airy, it has a view of the impressive Japanese grill and kitchen so you can watch the chefs at work. The ambience is more relaxed and the menu in this area reflects that a more concise selection features here and it focussed around small dishes.
